In practice for many years, Metroderm DC: Medical, Laser, and Aesthetic Dermatology Center has a reputation for providing high-quality professional, patient-focused care. The friendly and dedicated staff sees patients of all ages, from infants to older adults. The board-certified dermatologists also care for all genders and racial and ethnic groups. They take great pride in serving the health needs of those in the LGBTQ community.
The team specializes in diagnosing and treating any condition that affects the skin, hair, or nails. Some of the most common dermatological conditions they treat include skin cancer, mole surveillance, acne, hair loss, psoriasis, contact dermatitis, eczema, warts, cysts, skin infections, as well as numerous more complex diseases of the skin.
The full-service dermatology practice also offers many in-office, non-surgical, cosmetic services to improve appearance and reverse the visible signs of aging. These services include Neurotoxins such as Botox, fillers, chemical peels, laser resurfacing, Laser Hair Removal for all skin types including darker skin, laser removal of redness and blood vessels, radiofrequence microneedling, Thread lifting, and, Sculpsure laser body contouring, Kybella treatment of the double chin, Deep RF tightening of the neck and permanent sweat reduction, and sclerotherapy.
Modern Treatments for Lasting Confidence
Metroderm DC: Medical, Laser, and Aesthetic Dermatology Center also offers body contouring treatments. These treatments include Kybella® injections to get rid of excess fat under the chin and skin tightening tools to reduce fat and cellulite on other parts of the body such as the Sculpsure laser to destroy fat and Venus Freeze to tighten skin post-treatment.
The board-certified dermatologists also provide professional products for patients to use at home, including the PCA Skin®, Revision Skincare®, Emmepelle, and Eau Thermale Avène® line of skin care products.

Appointments
Patients are seen by appointment only. Please inform the staff if you feel that you have an urgent problem when you call to schedule an appointment.
If your insurance company requires a referral please bring the referral or ensure that it is in our office prior to the date of your appointment.
If you are a new patient, or have not had a visit in the past year, please arrive at least 15 minutes early to fill out a questionnaire and allow the staff time to make a new chart for you.
If you need to reschedule or cancel an appointment, please give us at least 24 business hours’ notice for a regular appointment or 48 business hours’ notice for a scheduled procedure to avoid a cancellation fee. Please see our full financial policy under the patients’ form tab.
Our office policy for wearing a mask is optional.
Insurance
We participate with the following insurances:
AARP, Aetna, BCBS, Cigna, Humana, Medicare, Tricare (some policies require a referral), United Healthcare.
We DO NOT participate with the following insurances:
Alliance, First Health, Kaiser, Medicaid, Medstar, Multiplan/PHCS.
If you have any questions about our participation with your insurance plan, please call our office at 202-659-2223 or your insurance company before scheduling an appointment.
If your plan requires a referral to be seen by a specialist, please obtain it from your primary doctor before your visit.
Telephone Calls
We are happy to answer your questions, but may be unavailable when you call. In that event we ask that you leave your full name and a telephone number where you can be reached.
Calls in the morning are generally returned between 9 am- 11:30 am. Calls in the afternoon are returned later that same afternoon or the next day. If a question can be handled by one of the medical assistants you may receive a call from one of them. If an emergency exists we will make every attempt to see you. Please inform the receptionist that you feel you have an emergency so that either Dr. Stolar and Dr. Perkins or our assistant can respond quickly.
Since confidentiality cannot be ensured over the web, we will assume that the patient is waiving their right if they need to contact us by e-mail.
