About Todd E Perkins
Board-certified dermatologist Todd Perkins, MD, practices medical and procedural dermatology with a particular interest in surgical and cosmetic dermatology, as well as immunotherapy for skin disease. He provides personalized care for patients at Metroderm DC: Medical, Laser, and Aesthetic Dermatology Center in Washington, DC.
In addition to having a strong focus on skin cancer and new therapies for skin diseases, including psoriasis, eczema, and acne, Dr. Perkins performs advanced cosmetic dermatology procedures such as Botox®, fillers, laser rejuvenation, body and facial contouring, wrinkle-reducing treatments, and blood vessel and vein treatments. He is especially skilled in acne scar treatments using microneedling, TCA Cross, subcision, radiofrequency, and Fraxel® laser treatment. He also specializes in hair loss for women and men, offering platelet-rich plasma (PRP) and new medical therapies.
Dr. Perkins is a native Washingtonian. He graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts in political economy from Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana, and obtained his medical degree from Hahnemann University in Philadelphia with honors, where he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He completed his residency at Rush Medical Center in Chicago and served as the Chief Resident in dermatology.
After completing his residency, Dr. Perkins trained and supervised residents in dermatology at MedStar Washington Hospital Center as a staff attending dermatologist, and now is a member of the Georgetown University Department of Dermatology where he trains residents and sees patients in his “spare” time. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and a diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology.
Dr. Perkins previously served as president of the Washington D.C. Dermatological Society. He is an advisor to several pharmaceutical companies and trains physicians locally and nationally on the proper use of several advanced medical treatments. Dr. Perkins has also appeared numerous times on Fox 5 DC for its “Ask a Dermatologist” sessions.
