What is Botox?

Botox is a form of botulinum toxin therapy best known for temporarily reducing the appearance of facial wrinkles.

How does Botox work?

Botox temporarily paralyzes the muscles under your skin that cause lines and wrinkles.

When you frown or squint, your facial muscles cause your skin to fold. The structural changes that occur in your skin as you age make it harder for your skin to smooth out from the folding. Repeated facial expressions lead to etched-in lines and creases.

By decreasing facial muscle activity, Botox stops the skin folding so the etched-in lines can smooth themselves out. 

Do Botox injections hurt?

Botox injections take only a few minutes to administer, and there’s no need for downtime following your session. Your provider recommends avoiding intense physical activity for at least two hours following your Botox injections. 

When can I expect to see results from my Botox injections?

You may start to see improvements in your look within 24-48 hours after your Botox injections. It usually takes about a week to see the full benefits of the cosmetic treatment. 

How long does Botox last?

Botox keeps you looking young and fresh for 3-4 months. Once you start to notice a return of your lines and creases, you can return to the office to repeat your injections.
