Dr. Gonzalez graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Miami in Florida, earning a bachelor’s in neuroscience. After her undergraduate studies, she completed medical school at the State University of New York’s Downstate Health Sciences University. Dr. Gonzalez was recognized for her research during this time, winning the Alan R. Shalita Award for Excellence in Dermatological Research.
During her dermatology residency at George Washington University in Washington, DC, Dr. Gonzalez received comprehensive training at the Children’s National Medical Center and the Washington DC Veterans Affairs Hospital.
In addition to her rigorous training, Dr. Gonzalez spent one-year conducting dermatology research at the University of Miami. She helped conduct clinical trials and is a published author. Her publications are in peer-reviewed journals, focusing on inflammatory skin conditions, hair and nail disorders, non-melanoma skin cancer, and cosmetic dermatology. As a dermatology correspondent, she published numerous educational articles on various platforms, including Derm-In-Review, Next Steps In Derm, and Dermveda.
Dr. Gonzalez provides compassionate and individualized care for patients of all ages and backgrounds. As a native of Puerto Rico, she is fluent in English and Spanish. She is also proficient in Italian.
